Days for Girls is still hard at work sending supplies and providing education around the world. Most recent projects have supported girls/young women in St. Lucia, Haiti and Ethiopia. They are always looking for the following items:

- large Ziploc freezer bags (must be Ziploc brand and freezer specific)
- procion dyes (dark colours)
- soaps (hotel-sized, still in original wrapper)
- 100% quilter’s cotton (dark patterns) – as small as 5 x 5 inches
- 100% cotton flannel (dark colours/patterns) – as small as 6 x 9 inches
- poly-cotton (bright, fun patterns) – at least 12 x 12 inches
- 100% polyester thread (dark colours)

As there was so much interest in the serged liners for the Days for Girls kits, Senora has tested out the pattern and prepared a demo for Sit ‘n Sew – August 19th at Living Faith Presbyterian Church, Baxter.
If you’re interested in sewing up some liners, please bring your serger along to Sit ‘n Sew. If you have any appropriate flannel you are willing to donate, please bring that along, too. The flannel CANNOT have animals, people, bugs, snakes, camo, military, flags or words and cannot be yellow. It should be a medium or dark colour or print to help disguise stains and should be pre-washed.
There are a few steps in the construction process that require a regular sewing machine, so even if you don’t own a serger, you will be able to help out.
As always, bag kits will be available also.
