August Sit n Sew

Another successful Sit n Sew has come and gone. Today 15 members of Quilting Corners Guild spent the day working on quilt tops for Quilts of Valour, bags for youth and their own projects. Six QoV tops were completed, two sets of blocks and a couple of personal projects are well on their way. Lots of chatter, laughter and yummy snacks were enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone for your time and contributions. 😊🇨🇦

Sit n Sew – July 9, 2022

Our second Sit n Sew this year was a hit, with 11 members and 3 guests in attendance. Today’s  focus was Quilts of Valour or a project of choice. The QoV accomplishments included 60 log cabin blocks, the 5th poppy quilt top is nearing completion, the blocks for 1 zig zag quilt are made and Cheryl spent the day stripping…fabric for a bargello quilt. Other accomplishments included cloth youth bags, a top of 4 patches and an exploding heart. Snacks, a communal luncheon and lots of laughter were enjoyed by all. A very nice day!  Our next Sit n Sew day is August 27th.

Christmas in July

Christmas comes to Alliston each year when Quilting Corners Guild presents quilts to our four community partners: Quilts of Valour – Canada, Matthews House Hospice, Simcoe Manor and My Sister’s Place. Since our last presentation in December 2021 our guild members have created and completed 104 Quilts of Comfort, 67 of these bright and beautiful quilts were presented last evening. The remaining quilts await distribution in the coming months. A job well done everyone!
