Medallion Skill Builder Reveal

On December 4th eight guild members shared their completed skill builder quilts. The quilt was designed as a teaching quilt demonstrating a different technique in each round for participants to try some or all lessons.  The eight quilts shown below, with the original quilt on the rack in the background, were voted on for Viewer’s Choice. We hope to see all of these and more at our upcoming quilt show in June 2019.
The results of the Viewer’s Choice includes a tie for 1st Place:
👍 Maureen B & Cheryl L
👍 2nd – Lucie L
👍 3rd – Peggy F
Congratulations to all of our entrants for their beautiful quilts and commitment to completion for our reveal date. We hope to see other completed Medallion Skill Builders at upcoming Show n Tells in the new year.

Annual Christmas Community Cheer

December 4th was another evening of pride in our guild’s community outreach to My Sister’s Place and Matthews House Hospice. Our members have been very busy elves over the past few months generating Quilts of Comfort and quilted stockings. Last evenings donations included:
😄 50 small and lap size quilts & 3 bed size quilts for MSP
😄 78 quilted stockings & 7 Santa sacks for MSP
😄 3 fleece blankets and 3 pillow cases for MSP
😄 14 day bed quilts for Matthews House
😄 1 Wallhanging for Matthews House
👍 $150.00 for The Good Shepherd Foodbank from playing ‘Quilto’, our version of bingo!
The first photo is Senora Baldry, Community Outreach with Sheila Cormier, MSP and Kim Woodland, MHH.  The second shows some of the 67 quilts on display for our presentations. The latest in our donated quilts. Since 2008 Quilting Corners Guild has created and donated almost 700 Quilts of Comfort locally.
We wish our members and community partners a safe and happy holiday.🎉

September Guild Meeting was a Great Evening!

Our September guild meeting was a full agenda enjoyed by several guests and our members.  Ruth Kennedy shared her quilt journey and an array of quilts, techniques and stories. As you can see from the pic below, her work is amazing.  Quilt School covered lots of practical tips for organizing fabric and quilting supplies.  There was an update on community outreach and lots of quilts of comfort returned for our December donation.  As always everyone enjoyed snacks, prizes and laughter.
